PS2 Disc Read Error - UK Protest Site
Home
Welcome,

If you've arrived at this site, chances are you fall into one of the following groups.
  1. People who have, or have had, disc read errors with their PS2.
  2. People who have no problems, but are worried it might happen to them.
  3. People who have no problems, and want to see why all these people who mistreat their PS2's about are moaning about having to pay for repairs.
  4. People who don't own a PS2, but want to gloat that their console is fine.
Depending on which group you're in, you should take note of the following.
  1. Bad luck. Have a look around the site. Remember to contact me, so I can try and determine the scale of this problem.
  2. Take a look around, see when other people purchased their consoles, what model it is and when their problems started. You may be able to determine how at risk you are, and what warning signs to look out for.
  3. I thought that too. Then it happened to me. I don't kick it when I lose, play copied games, push biscuits in the CD drive, empty vacuum cleaner bags full of dust into into it, etc. I just use it in the home, like everyone else. Much like I did with my original PlayStation, which still works fine. And my PC's, which still work fine. And my old Amiga and Spectrum +3 come to that. Along with every other piece of electronic kit I own.
  4. Yes, we know all about Halo and Metroid Prime. Those consoles aren't as widespread as PS2 and you may get problems of your own to worry about. They are both disc based and when Microsoft and Nintendo start telling you that it's your fault, you'll not be so smug about the whole thing.
